Stupid TV adverts (2 subjects)

Irritating

advert from a Do-It-Yourself store that directs its advertising at those people who live either on pedestrian bridges or on railway stations. And now;- a seaside pier!

The ads show how colourful you can make a bridge with gaudy rainbow painting, or how decorative you can make a railway platform or pier by the addition of several of their products.

So the next time you decorate:- remember to allow space for passing pedestrians,  the odd train,  or passing ships......

And in case you're lucky enough not to have seen these adverts, they're from

Homebase.

That bloody awful bear !!

Is it a bear? A small, pathetic, badly stuffed and decrepit hand-sewn toy animal which spends its life visiting the
Travelodge
chain of hotels, (which is second only to the worst hotels I ever stayed in - IBIS).

Accompanied by a pink creature that could be a rat, a hamster,  a guinea-pig, or some other undefined animal, this irritating creature makes some inane, but threatening, remark about pigeons disturbing its rest, or stands on a pile of suitcases to reach the check-in counter, all the while extolling the virtues of the hotel chain, most of which don't even have any food or drink facilities, except vending machines.

Even the amateurish animation in the advert looks as if it's been done in a garden shed.

And I am supposed to leap at the chance to stay in one of these hotels thanks to the ridiculously deep, nasal and grating voice that sounds as if it's coming from the bottom of a gravel pit.

Yeah !!    Right !!
